Edward Witherspoon grew up in Aberdeen, Maryland, the suburbs of Baltimore, with an appreciation for family, community and hard work.
As a former collegiate athlete, Edward has participated on successful teams and has seen the benefits of individuals working together for the benefit to achieve goals. From this experience, Edward has learned the importance of collaboration and he truly believes that is it critical for advisors to coordinate their services with the rest of the client’s wealth advisor team. This team approach between the attorney, CPA and financial advisor benefits families and business owners to help achieve their goals and dreams.
Edward has been overseeing the financial affairs of families and business owners since 1994. As a wealth advisor who doesn’t work for a Wall Street banking firm, he strives to provide planning that isn't affected by a bottom line or pressure to sell a particular investment product. In fact, it isn’t about products at all; it is about relationship development, planning and strategy.
Away from the office, Edward works to improve his community. During his career, he has participated in the Learning and Mentoring Program for Aberdeen Area Schools. He has also volunteered as a Baltimore County High School boys’ basketball coach; in which he helped an underachieving team learn the benefits of team cooperation, education, hard work, and commitment by taking them from last place to first place in two years time. But winning on the court isn’t everything to Edward; his biggest achievement was seeing those junior varsity boys attending colleges and universities after high school and becoming positive contributing members of our society. He is currently the Golf Chairperson for the Al Cesky Scholarship Fund (http://www.alceskyscholarship.org); an organization which raises money to provide 24 annual scholarships to local Harford County High School students. In addition, Edward is a committee member of the Highland Schools Golf and Tennis Tournament for the Highland Schools (http://highlandsschool.net).
Edward has been married to his wife, Bobbie Jo, since June 1999 and they have two sons, Christopher and Dominic. Edward enjoys seeing his sons grow and develop academically, athletically, socially and spiritually. Edward enjoys traveling, playing golf, tennis, and watching and participating in a variety of sports.
Edward’s financial practice helps him to help people concentrate on family and spiritual fulfillment, health, career advancement, and philanthropic plans. Through his work, his goals are to see a family achieve sending a child to his/her college of choice, sell a business, improve their lifestyle in retirement, or give to their favorite charities.
